Welcome to Term III

Group Name: Skittles.

The first day of the Third term!

White Fields nursery, the best place to be in this third term. The focus, especially for this group, is ‘GETTING READY TO SCHOOL’.

Skittles started their day with an interactive circle time. They reviewed phonics, numbers and the theme of the week  ‘opposites’.

Developing their social, physical and emotional skills has always been the best target for healthy growth.Kids enjoyed matching big and small shapes, during their indoor play time. Kids were happy to run and sit on squishy, big and small shapes. They learned the big and small concept as well as developed their physical and numeracy skills.

Getting together with friends to play a group game outdoors is always awesome. They were happy to play a snail racing game.

In their little world, the snails ran and ran…. And yes, they enjoyed it.

The Opening party theme was about their favorite superheroes. Kids enjoyed pretending to be Spiderman, Elsa, Batman …to name a few.

They also had lots of goodies to take home.

Face painting was also a great icing on the cake.

We surely look forward to a wonderful third term, where we will be getting ready to go to school by learning through play.

Group Name: Pollys.

We are ready for Term 3!

Let’s meet our friends and let’s explore our tiny world!

Pollys were very curious today.

They wanted to explore the sky and discover a big mystery… Why the moon is so big and why stars are so small? This activity was amazing in the eyes of the little ones and their involvement was great. Full of curiosity in the eyes of the little ones, They wondered about the sparkling stars. This was great to encourage them in language development, as kids were excited at what they saw and expressed their thoughts.

Kids need to have direct experience with the world in order to make sense of and learn about it. In that light, during space travelers class they learned about the sky. Big moon and small stars invite children to create and use their imaginations.

Pollys sorted stars according to the size. Big and Small stars were sorted, aligning with the theme of this week-‘Opposites’.This activity stimulated their thinking and communication and language skills as it was great for intellectual development.

Snail race was great fun as kids moved slowly and carefully and tried to reach target line. They were so excited to have their names called out. It was educative for kids and they tried to do it as slow as they could. This remains an ideal game for kids with varying skills because everyone gets the chance to play.

Kids were given the opportunity to do it again and again. This was awesome for them to boost their physical development.

It was so much fun at the end of the day.

Face painting is always fascinating for the little ones.

Such an exciting day today!

Group Name: Seattles

Ready, steady, SLOW!

Snail racing was great fun across all ages of White Fields nursery today. Kids heard of ready, steady and rather slow. They wondered what it was all about.  It was a super activity to get kids thinking and learning about these gorgeous slippery slimy garden neighbors.

What character are you?

Most children have an animated character they can easily pick out as their favorite. The amazing Spiderman is a good, awesome and fun character for little kids. They acted as one during their pretend play after having painted their faces like the characters. Spiderman inspires young heroes to be responsible and compassionate.

What can you learn from Elsa?

Wow! Acting as Elsa was great fun. Elsa promotes self-acceptance and familial love, these are lessons all kids, both daughters and sons, can appreciate and learn from.

Exercises help them grow. They enjoyed playing a movement game box in which kids were introduced to the basics of opposites. If they throw a dice and it says ‘stand’, they were asked to do the opposite which is ‘sit’. Kids really had lots of fun and tried to have all the sides of the dice in order to get the opposite actions done.

A very exciting start of the Third Term today…
